Welcome to NMA, a new media centre to equip students with new media competencies and literacies for creative self-expression and character development!
Innova Junior College, Centre of Excellence for New Media (COE) since February 2007, seeks to fulfill its vision as the national flagship in new media for education through its dual roles as a research centre and a new media centre.
As a new media centre, the COE seeks to equip students with new media literacies and media competencies, consequently encouraging them to utilise these skills for creative self-expression and even more so for social good. The COE organises the annualNew Media Academy that provides opportunities for students to acquire new media competencies under the tutelage of industry professionals. youthchaNgE 3.0 http://www.nma.sg/youthchange/, a social web utility to equip Singapore youth with new media skills and literacies and engage them in civic media for national education is launched in 2010.
This website especially showcases the new media education programmes organised by the COE. In particular, New Media Arts, a niche CCA in Innova Junior college. Our CCA programme consists of training and development in the following disciplines:
- Digital Filmmaking
- Digital Photography
- Digital Broadcasting and Music Design
- Digital Website and Graphics Design/Animation
Through this CCA, we hope to groom students in their new media pursuit as well as give them an edge in related university courses through the building of impressive portfolios as they take on meaningful and impactful new media projects.
