sCene3 Act I - New Media Academy

Over the March holidays, 39 schools with over 230 students took part in our sCene3 Act I - New Media Academy. This is the third year we are running this programme and the responses have been increasingly good over the years.
This year, the theme of the event is Cheering Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. Other than attending courses and workshops with industry professionals who guided and mentored the participants, learning journeys to the YOG Learning Centre as well as to various production houses and mediacorp radio stations were organized!

Adobe Education Leadership Forum 2009

On 1 and 2 April, the Centre of Excellence for New Media has been invited to share about its innovative use of new media for teaching and learning at the Adobe Education Leadership Forum 2009, held in Seoul, Korea. Mrs Karen Yap was the representative speaker at the conference, alongside the Vice President of World Wide Education, Mr Peter Issacson and Director of Worldwide Higher Education, Ms Megan Steward. Finland Exchange Programme

Over the December holidays in 2008, New Media Arts members have embarked on their overseas exchange programme to Finland. Not only did they immerse themselves in the Finnish culture, there were also chances to experience the media education in Tikkurilan Lukio (Tikkurila Upper Secondary School, in Vantaa) as well as engage in media productions to document the trip! Official Opening of La Vita Nuova - A New Media Installation Art and Video Art Space

La Vita Nuova (meaning A New Life, by Dante), a facility within Innova JC thats dedicated to New Media Installation Art and Video Art, was officially opened on the 23 May 2008 by Mr Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports & Ministry of Transport!
La Vita Nuova is now having a First ever Opening Exhibition featuring a pioneering series of 6 works, namely SpaceX, Time in Black and White, Abandoned, Groundbreakers, D'PICK and After Eight. These works are lovingly created by our JC2s. The exhibition will take place in Term 3 and opened for viewing on selected Wednesday afternoons.
